rose : 3d storyboard

an experimental animated sequence for a narrative video piece: 'non-linear' (working title)

below are panels describing an establishing sequence in a rolling desert valley. the camera tilts downward from the sky to reveal the hills. the camera then pulls back to reveal more of the landscape, along with the main character, rose. as rose is an imagined composite of many people, she is a flat, planar representation of a female form. she blurs and ultimately fades out of the scene, thus ending the sequence.

fig 1: overview with camera motion.

fig 2: rough storyboarding of final shot.

fig 3: rough shot list (A).

components:

rose, a photographic image mapped to a rough planar model of a female.

the hills, a textured representation of an area like coachella valley.

the clouds, possibly texture map, possibly modelled.

animation methods:

camera motion for titling, panning, zooming.

model animation for the travelling of rose.

post-production in after effects for blurring and fading.
